Not only were these precious gemstones thoroughly inspected by an expert gemmologist and fervent precious stones collector, but also they were thoroughly inspected by an award-winning jeweller – me!

Using electronic micro-balances and optical measuring devices, refractometer readings and Chelsea filters, I was able to determine their exact proportions, measurements, facet angles, light refraction (how ‘sparkly’ the gemstone is) and the saturation of colour.

I looked to see that there were no camouflaged scratches, chips or ‘birthmarks’ that reduce durability and clarity, making sure these exclusive precious stones are not cracked, chipped or fracture-filled. I also picked the ones where the stone is solid, and colour is vivid and even throughout.
